I'll overwhelm 'legitimate fighter' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face Jake Paul in an eight-round match which will be broadcast live on the streaming platform.

Briton Joshua said he will "dominate completely" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to publicize the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Former two time unified boxing king Anthony Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth disparity - at Miami arena on 19 December.

Boxer's Mentality

"I will injure his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.

"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will really want to injure him. That's my goal."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of those words, a calm Joshua and social media star Paul - typically known for his dramatics - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul rather targeted ex Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "not serious" after Ngannou declined a bout proposal.

Targeting Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, targeted British opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a large bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer said.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Fighter

Despite stating he plans to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to speak negatively about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he remarked.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since turning professional.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

However, the novice continues to be one of the sport's greatest financial successes, consistently making substantial paydays.

Forecast and Belief

The 28-year-old forecast a KO victory in rounds four or five and claimed he would stop the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly in the works for 2026.

"It's going to be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.

Physical Disparity

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the customary confrontation, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it highlighted just how surprising this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is actually happening.
